I have been using PayPal for more than 10 years without any issues until last week when they decided to limit my account.
There was no warning, my account was in good standing, there were no issues with too many chargebacks, items not received disputes or item, not as described cases.
The issues seem to have been that I was running a VPN proxy server business and PayPal seems to have changed the rules and their terms and conditions and stopped processing payments for VPN Provide us in general.
However, I believe that PayPal should have warned me before making changes to their terms and conditions.
I did some research online and I came across many other cases where PayPal users seem to have had their PayPal account limited without a warning.
Papal seem to have a general policy and not communicating changes and their terms and conditions with their users. I believe every PayPal when there is user shouldn’t be giving a warning before they have their PayPal account limited.
Because of this PayPal suspension, I have lost more 650 monthly subscribers and my turn over it went from 15K a month to zero overnight.
I have tried to open new PayPal accounts many times only to have my account limited again within a few hours or after a couple of days. I also tried to appeal the PayPal account limitation with that very frustrating result that they did not even answer my emails.
I believe PayPal is not a bad are or an evil company. However, they seem to have incompetent staff who might not deal with PayPal limitation or ban cases the best way.
In many cases, customer service representatives who decide about PayPal account reinstatements also don’t have the time to really get a full understanding of each case as they have very high-performance targets which can lead at the end to very poor decisions.
By saving money in their customer service departments PayPal is also hurting their own business. Not only PayPal seems to have issues with the level of customer service they provide as other tech companies such as eBay, Amazon or even Google perform very low when dealing with clients.
The issue is that all those companies have some kind of monopoly in their field which allows them to treat customers like dirt. As long as you fly on the radar everything will be fine. However, as soon as you get in trouble it is really difficult to get your account reinstated or to get your PayPal balance released before the 180 days limit.
The sad truth is that in many cases the only way to get back your business is to open a new PayPal account in order to be able to process payments online again. I even believe that it is smart to have multiple PayPal accounts to ensure that your business is stable and does not get shut down out of the blue by unexpected PayPal account limitations.
If PayPal also limited your account please leave a comment below and share your story with us because it will help all of us to understand better how PayPal limits accounts.
